The New Zealand Finance Colloquium was an initiative introduced in 1996 to promote the discussion, dissemination and development of finance related research within New Zealand. The colloquium is an annual event organised and held at universities throughout the country.

27th Annual (2023) New Zealand Finance Colloquium

The 27th Annual New Zealand Finance Colloquium was hosted by Victoria University of Wellington on the 16th and 17th of February 2023. The event was held using a hybrid model..

The event included a PhD symposium on the morning of 16th February, 2023 with the main colloquium sessions commencing in the afternoon of the 16th February, 2023.

Keynote

Jay R. Ritter - University of Florida, Warrington College of Business

Since 1996, Jay R. Ritter has served as the Joseph B. Cordell Eminent Scholar in the Department of Finance at the University of Florida. Prof Ritter is known as “Mr. IPO” for his work on initial public offerings. During 2014 -15, he served as president of the Financial Management Association. Google Scholar reports his work has received over 53,000 citations. He received his BA, MA, and PhD (1981) degrees in economics and finance from the University of Chicago.
